How Fanvue works: signing up, paying, and the trial that charges

· Minettes VIP

Here's how Fanvue works if you're the one watching: a free account with an email, following a creator costs nothing and shows you whatever she leaves open; for the rest you subscribe in renewable 30-day cycles. It has two things the others don't: you can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or cryptocurrency as well as a card, and its free trial turns into a paid subscription on its own. Below: signing up, the methods that actually work, when the charge lands, and how to cancel without being billed.

This post is for you if you're going to use Fanvue to watch content. It's not for you if you want to sell there: that's a different subject and a different audience.

What Fanvue is, and how it differs

It's a subscription-content platform competing with OnlyFans and Fansly. Three differences you notice as a subscriber:

  • Follow for Free. You can follow a creator with no payment and no card. It isn't a trial and it doesn't expire.
  • AI profiles. Fanvue is the platform with the most AI-generated creators, and not all of them say so obviously. If knowing whether you're talking to a person matters to you, how to read AI labels applies here too.
  • More ways to pay than OnlyFans, which takes cards only.

How you sign up

Email and password, or sign in with Google or Apple. It asks for no card to open an account, and with an empty account you can already browse profiles and follow for free. The card or the balance come in when you subscribe or unlock something.

Following free, a free trial and a subscription are three different things

This is the confusion that costs money on Fanvue, and it's the important difference from Fansly:

Follow freeFree trialSubscription
Costs00 to startHer rate, every 30 days
Asks for a card?NoYesYes
You seeWhatever she opens to followersEverything, while it lastsAll her subscriber content
When it endsIt doesn't endIt converts to a paid subscriptionIt renews

Fanvue's free trial doesn't just lapse: when it expires it becomes a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel first. Fanvue sends a reminder email 24 hours before. Ignore it and you pay.

Following free, by contrast, never converts into anything. What exactly you can see without paying is in Fanvue for free: following, trials and locked content.

What you can pay with

MethodDoes it work?
Visa and Mastercard, credit or debitYes
Apple PayYes, on supported Apple devices
Google PayYes, on Android and in Chrome
Fanvue wallet with cryptocurrencyYes, and you need no card
Prepaid or gift Visa/MastercardYes, though they recommend a standard card
PIXBrazil only
DiscoverNo
PayPalNo
Zelle, Cash AppNo
Bank transfer or direct debitNo
Store gift cards or vouchersNo

That's Fanvue's official list, not a roundup of blogs. Two useful readings: Discover works on OnlyFans and not here, and Apple Pay and Google Pay are the discreet route if you'd rather not type a card — though there's still a card behind them, and the charge shows on that account all the same.

The crypto wallet: the no-card route

Fanvue has an internal wallet and it can be topped up with cryptocurrency. With that balance you pay without any card touching the platform. It's the same idea as Fansly's wallet, and between them they're the only real routes to subscribe to paid content without a card: the full picture is in OnlyFans without a credit card.

When you're charged, and how to cancel without being billed

The cycle is 30 days counted from the time of your first payment, not from the 1st of the month. It renews on its own. Before you confirm, the screen shows the total with taxes included.

To cancel: Settings → Payments & Subscriptions → Manage My Subscriptions, find the creator and hit unsubscribe. You keep access until the end of the 30-day period you already paid for.

And the detail nobody publishes, though it's in Fanvue's own help: you have to cancel at least one or two hours before your renewal date. Close to renewal time the payment may already be processing, and once it is, it cannot be stopped or reversed. In their words, it's the most common reason fans get charged after unsubscribing. Payments are non-refundable.

If the payment doesn't go through

It's almost always the bank. Check that the card has online and international purchases enabled, that the name and address match your bank's records, and that it isn't blocked from earlier attempts. Prepaid cards often fail because they arrive unregistered. If your bank blocks the adult merchant category, no amount of retrying fixes it: use another card, Apple Pay, or the wallet.

What you shouldn't do is dispute the charge instead of cancelling. A chargeback is treated as fraud and takes the account with it.

If you'd rather pay nothing

The side-by-side comparison, and when each one suits you, is in Fanvue or Minettes VIP.

For comparison: on Minettes VIP you get in with an email and your age, no card, and you see the photo sessions and the videos with ads and a daily cap; free access renews every 30 days and nothing converts to paid on its own. Premium costs $5 USD a month ($25 for six, $45 for twelve) as a one-time payment through Coinbase, with no auto-renewal. How it works, in Minettes VIP free with ads.

Frequently asked questions

How does Fanvue work?

A free account with an email, free following of anyone you like, and renewable 30-day subscriptions to see paid content. You pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or wallet balance.

Is Fanvue free?

The account and following are. Subscriber content isn't. And watch out: the free trial is only free at the start, because it converts into a paid subscription.

Can you pay for Fanvue without a card?

Yes, by topping up the Fanvue wallet with cryptocurrency. Apple Pay and Google Pay don't count as "without a card": there's one behind them.

Does Fanvue accept PayPal?

No. Nor Discover, Zelle, Cash App, bank transfers or store gift cards. Visa and Mastercard, credit or debit, are the safe bet.

Does the Fanvue free trial charge you?

Yes, if you don't cancel it. On expiry it becomes a paid subscription automatically; they email you 24 hours beforehand.

How do I cancel a Fanvue subscription?

Settings → Payments & Subscriptions → Manage My Subscriptions. Do it one or two hours before renewal: once the payment is processing it can't be stopped, and there are no refunds.
