OnlyFans refund: when you get one, and how to cancel
· Minettes VIP
First, because it's what matters: on OnlyFans, payments are final. A subscription, an unlocked message or a tip don't come back because you changed your mind, or because you cancelled the next day. Refunds exist but they're the exception: duplicate charges, billing errors, unauthorised use of your account. What always works is cancelling in time so it doesn't happen again. And what you should never do is go to your bank to dispute the charge. Here's each case.
This post is for you if you've already been charged and don't know what to do. If you haven't paid anything yet and want to understand the billing before entering a card, that's in how OnlyFans works for viewers.
First: stop the bleeding
The urgent money isn't this month's, it's next month's. The subscription renews by itself on the same date until you turn it off.
- Go to the creator's profile, or to your subscriptions from your account.
- Turn off auto-renewal for that subscription.
- Check the status actually changed. If you follow several creators it's one by one: there's no button that switches them all off.
Cancelling doesn't lock you out. You keep access until the month you already paid for ends, and then the wall closes. So there's nothing to gain by waiting until the last day: cancel the moment you decide.
Cancelling a free profile or a trial
Two cases that confuse people:
- A free subscription to a profile that charges nothing: you cancel it in the same place, and no money is involved. All that changes is that you stop appearing as a subscriber and stop getting her posts.
- A free trial: here the date matters. On OnlyFans a trial can be attached to a subscription that starts billing when it ends. Turn it off the day you start it if you only wanted a look. On Fanvue this is more aggressive still — the trial converts to paid automatically — as explained in how Fanvue works.
When you do get a refund
| Case | Likely? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The same charge twice | Yes, the clearest case | Support, with both lines from your statement |
| An obvious billing error (an amount that doesn't match) | Yes | Support, with a screenshot of the advertised price |
| Someone used your account without permission | Yes, and change your password | Support, and turn on two-factor authentication |
| A platform failure stopped you seeing what you paid for | Sometimes | Support, with date, time and what wouldn't load |
| You paid for custom content that never arrived | Sometimes | Ask her first; if she doesn't reply, support |
| The creator's account was suspended mid-month | Sometimes | Support |
| You forgot about the renewal | No | Cancel so next month doesn't happen |
| You changed your mind, or didn't like the content | No | Nothing. It isn't a refund reason |
| You blocked the creator | No | Blocking neither cancels nor refunds. Cancel separately |
That last one is an expensive misunderstanding: blocking someone does not cancel their subscription. If you block and don't cancel, you keep getting billed.
How to ask so they take it seriously
There's no "I want my money back" form. You open a case with support from the help centre inside your account — that's where the current route lives, and it changes from time to time, so don't trust an email address you found on a blog. What decides the outcome is how you present it:
- Call it a billing error, not "I want to cancel and get my money back". That's the difference between a case and a complaint.
- Bring the data: date and time of the charge, the exact amount, the creator's username, and the line from your statement. If it's a duplicate, both lines.
- A screenshot of the advertised price, if the problem is the amount.
- Expect days, not hours, and keep a copy of what you sent so you can follow up.
Approval isn't guaranteed in any case: the policy itself says it's at the platform's discretion.
The chargeback: why it's the worst idea
It's tempting: call the bank, say you don't recognise the charge, get your money back. What happens next:
- Your OnlyFans account gets closed or restricted, and you lose access to everything you paid for before.
- That card is refused on the platform from then on.
- The money is pulled from the creator's balance, even though she did nothing.
- And if the charge was legitimate, that's fraud on your part, not a complaint.
A chargeback makes sense in one case: when the charge genuinely isn't yours — your card was cloned or someone used it without permission. Then it's the right route, and you should also tell the bank the card is compromised.
A charge you don't recognise on your card
And if the doubt is whether the profile you paid was genuine, the checks are in how to know if an OnlyFans account is real.
If an odd charge appeared and you suspect it's from here, look at the name first: the OnlyFans charge shows as OnlyFans, OnlyFans.com, OF or under the name Fenix (the parent company), depending on the bank. It never names a creator.
Before reporting fraud, rule out the likely answer: that it's your own renewal that you forgot, or that someone with access to that card — or to your account — subscribed to something. If it still doesn't add up after that, then yes: support, and if it isn't yours, the bank.
The detail of exactly what shows on a statement and what doesn't is in how OnlyFans works for viewers.
If you'd rather not go through this again
The root of the problem is auto-renewal. Three ways to get rid of it:
- Turn off renewal the same day you subscribe, every time. You lose nothing: you keep the full month.
- Pay from a balance instead of a card. The wallets on Fansly and Fanvue top up with crypto, and you spend only what you loaded.
- A platform where nothing renews on its own. On Minettes VIP, free access with ads renews by hand every 30 days, and Premium is a one-time payment through Coinbase with no recurring subscription. How it works, in Minettes VIP free with ads.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a refund on OnlyFans?
By opening a case with support from the help centre in your account, with the date, amount, creator's username and the line from your statement. Present it as a billing error. Approval is at the platform's discretion.
Do I get my money back if I cancel the same day?
No. The month you paid for isn't refunded; what cancelling gets you is not being charged for the next one. You keep access until the period ends.
If I block the creator, do the charges stop?
No. Blocking neither cancels the subscription nor refunds anything. They're two separate actions: you have to turn off auto-renewal.
How do I cancel a free OnlyFans subscription?
In the same place as a paid one, from the profile or from your subscriptions. No money is involved; you just stop getting her posts.
Can I dispute the charge with my bank?
You can, but it will cost you the account: a chargeback is treated as fraud and usually ends with the account closed and the card refused. It only makes sense if the charge genuinely isn't yours.
How long do they take to reply?
Days, not hours, and the answer may be a refusal under the policy. Keep a copy of what you sent so you can follow up.
